Mr. Parker obtained B.A. and M.A. degrees in music from California State University at Northridge and has obtained California Life Teaching Credentials (Secondary and Community College). After several years of teaching and work as a professional musician, he began to develop computer skills and progressed to the point of providing consulting and custom programming services to small businesses. After twenty plus years, he centered his activities on the then fledgling online assessment processing business, partnering with Tony Alessandra and Brandon Parker. Ten years later, he happily continues as CIO.
Mr. Parker has maintained a commitment to contributing to the improvement of the consulting profession through volunteer leadership roles. He served a three-year term as National Vice-President, President, & Chairman of the Board of the Independent Computer Consultants Association and has served on ICCA's Standards and Practices Committee. He was a director on the board of the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals for five years. Active in the MIT Enterprise Forum of San Diego for a number of years, he served as co-chair of the program committee for two years and the treasurer for two years.
Mr. Parker resides with his wife, Jane, a retired church Minister of Music and music teacher, in the Tierrasanta neighborhood of San Diego. One of his two sons is the aforementioned Brandon, and the other, Todd, is Manager of Biotechnology/MTS with Inova Diagnotics, Inc. He is blessed with four grandchildren. His music activities have continued all along, playing clarinet, guitar, bass guitar and keyboards and conducting various instrumental and vocal ensembles.
