Cathy Stephens has been an educator in various capacities for over 20 years. She has a passion for promoting transformational growth and development through continued education and teaching effective communication strategies. Cathy has worked closely with K-12 and adult learners, both as a teacher and at the administrative level. She began her career as a middle school teacher where her students kept her on her toes. She then took a detour and became a corporate trainer, where she successfully made learning about insurance policies “fun” through her innovative strategies. Cathy then became the Director of Educational Certification and Career Services at Whitworth University where she certified K-12 teachers, principals and school counselors, and coached them on all aspects of obtaining a job in their field. In this capacity, she delivered small and large-group presentations to educational groups involved in K-12 education across Washington State. Cathy has written professional articles and conducted webinars for educational magazines and online organizations including Phi Lambda Theta and Horizons on topics involving processes for pursing employment in education, and professionalism in the field.
